Manhattan's newest neighborhood — 28 acres of purpose-built residential, retail, and cultural anchors over the LIRR rail yards.
§ 01 — About Hudson Yards
Hudson Yards is the 28-acre development that opened in phases starting 2019 over the LIRR's West Side Yard, bounded by West 30th and 34th Streets, Tenth Avenue, and the Hudson River. It is the largest private real estate development in U.S. history and holds Manhattan's youngest residential inventory — every building in the zone is post-2015 construction.
The amenity set is the densest in New York. The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards include the first U.S. Neiman Marcus, a Thomas Heatherwick–designed retail atrium, and 100+ restaurants and shops. The Vessel (currently closed for renovation) and The Shed cultural center anchor the public plaza. The Edge observation deck at 30 Hudson Yards is Manhattan's highest outdoor sky deck.
Transit is concentrated at the new 7 train terminus at 34th Street-Hudson Yards, with additional access to the A, C, and E at 34th Street-Penn Station six blocks east. The High Line terminates at the southern edge of the development, connecting Hudson Yards directly to Chelsea, the Meatpacking District, and the Whitney.
